After a long hot summer across the Alps, the weather has finally begun to feel a little more like Autumn. Endless sunny days have been replaced with rain and falling temperatures.

Snow has been seen above 2000m and glaciers across Europe are beginning to open. Here in Switzerland Saas Fee has opened its doors to the world renowned Stomping grounds camp. Glacier 3000 have set a start date of the 11th November.
Here are Vivid Snowboarding we are getting excited about the up and coming winter here in Verbier. After the success of our Instructor training course last winter we will agin be running another BASI level one and two course. This starts at the beginning of December and rolls through until mid February.

Here is a look at the camps we will be running this winter
Winter opening camp : at the beginning of December. Our first freestyle camp will be between the 19th - 23rd December 2022. The Verbier Snow park will be building some exclusive early winter features for the camp
January traditionally sees the largest snowfalls across the Alps and our Freeride camps will begin once the Christmas and New Year period has finished.
We have camps running in January and February and we can custom design these for any groups.

Here at Vivid Snowboarding we also offer a selection of instructor training courses. Our instructor level one and two course is a 10 week program that will take you form the beginning of December through until the middle of February. Once the course has finished successful students will be ready to get out and teach in the industry .
New for Winter 2022 - 2023 is our level 3 and 4 instructor training course. This has been designed to take both your riding and teaching to that next level while having a huge amount of fun in the mountains for a winter.

Come join one of our snowboard instructor training courses. We run our courses in some of the very best resorts in the world. We deliver the majority of our programs in the Valais region of Switzerland.

You will have training by current members of the BASI Snowboard training team as well as BASI Level 4 instructors. The quality of the coaching is second to none in the industry. All coaches are exceptional in making the course an experience to remember.
The goal when delivering our instructor training course is to make individuals who are super confident in their ability to teach and coach all over the mountain while ripping on their boards in all types of terrain. For those who fit the criteria we have potential instructing work in Verbier with Vivid Snowboarding.

Our Winter 2021 - 2022 course in Verbier, Switzerland was a huge success. We had a great pass rate on both the BASI level one and level two exams. Two of the students gained employment from mid February until the end of the winter season.
The next course will be starting in Saas Fee, Switzerland on the 26th September. The course will run for nine weeks and will finish on the 25th November in time for the start of the Northern hemisphere winter.

Here are just a few of the advantages of taking a guide:
- Being taken to the best snow conditions on any given day. Our guides have been riding these mountains for over 20 years. They know all the very best places to ride through out Verbier and the 4Vallies. Even when the conditions have been dry in the mountains our guides will be able to find you fresh snow to ride.
- Terrain choice is key. Your guide will match the difficulty of the terrain to the level of the crew who are riding. Its never worth stepping too far outside your comfort zone. Your guide will be on hand to take you to where is best and most suitable.

Snowboarding lessons worth it?
Are snowboarding lessons worth it? This blog will lay out the advantages of taking a snowboard instructor, coach or guide.
Here are the biggest advantages:
- Its not all about technique but its important - A good instructor will have you standing with proper alignment on your snowboard. This will in turn allow for correct steering. Bad habits will be avoided and progression will be maximised. At a beginner level you will learn the correct foundation to then grow as a rider. As a more advanced rider you will be challenged and progression will be faster. Check out all our lesson and session options here LESSONS
- Safety - A local professional will always know the mountain. You will be guided to where conditions are the best and safest on any given day. They will often choose the best lifts with least amount of people. Instructors will also be able to provide that insider knowledge of the mountain. It's finding those secret spots and hidden gems which is important.
- Conditions - finding the best snow and conditions and being able to match the ability of the rider with the correct terrain type. Your instructor will be up to date with weather conditions and avalanche risk. keep an eye on the weather via the following site WEATHER
- Secret spots - Your instructor will be able to find those hidden gems on the mountain. When it snows 10cm - 15cm and your instructor knows just the spot to get awesome face shots and not touch anything underneath.
- Equipment - Hire shops can often over look the proper set up of the board, boots and bindings. A good instructor will set your equipment up so it it tailor made for each individual. Everyones weight and shape is different. This has to be reflected in how the equipment is set up.
Summer Session 2021
Summer session 2021
Summer session 2021 managed to go ahead in early August. Travel restrictions meant a fair few people were unable to attend due to impossible quarantine times etc
The early summer period had seen a few closed days due to adverse weather conditions. However, the week we had was fine. Both the park and slopes were in great conditions for the duration of the session. Warm summer temperatures had conditions just perfect in the snow park by about 10am each morning.

The progression from everyone involved was immense. 50/50 tricks turned into frontside board slides and switch ups. 180's got turned up to 360's. The mountain would close between 1pm and 2pm each day when we would head for some late lunch and light refreshment at mid station.
By late afternoon everyone was ready for a snooze and recharge before a tasty pizza in Cervinia in the Evening. Cervinia has some of the finest Pizza restaurants around so there was plenty of choice establishments to get a fine slice from.

Le Chable is fast becoming the centre piece of the Val des Bagnes. Verbier sits on one side and the mountains of Bruson the other. The town of Le Chable has under gone changes in the last few years and more plans are a foot to develop the village more. The modernisation of the Le Chable train and lift station has lead to faster access to both Verbier and Bruson.
Travel links into Val des Bagnes have centred around the development of the new train station. This allows more weekend traffic to flow into the mountains to enjoy some of the very best snowboarding terrain in the world. The Le Chable to Verbier lift is due to stay open year round from November 2021 from early in the morning until late at night. This means that accommodation options in Le Chable become attractive to everyone. The lift time to Medran in Verbier is only ten minutes so from the valley floor to Ruinettes you are looking at about 20 minutes.
During mid winter when the snow lies on the valley floor there are off-piste routes that meander down from the Verbier side. ( only go with a guide or someone with local knowledge as many routes are littered with hazards). On the Bruson side of the mountain there is an itinerary run that flows back into Le Chable.

Vivid Snowboarding will again be offering the very best snowboard instructor program starting 29/11/2021 and running through to 04/02/2022. The 10 weeks course will have you qualified with both the BASI level one and two qualifications. The course itself does also have the option to add the BASI performance coach course module onto the schedule.

Here at Vivid Snowboarding we offer various options within the snowboard instructor program. The full package will include accommodation and food. We have also added an option where the individual can pay for just the training and exams and the rest is up to you. We have plenty of accommodation contacts within in the area.
The snowboard instructor program has plenty of highlights. The Heli adventure at the end of the program is always a favourite as well as finishing the level 2 exam and gaining the qualification. We coach you to teach and ride with style in some of the very best mountains in the world.
