MID SEASON – Vivid Snowboarding Verbier
Mid season in Verbier has seen some more huge snowfalls in the last few weeks .The resort has gone into holiday mode with slightly larger lift lines in key areas. All the mountain has great cover and the snow has been amazing up top. Be careful when riding off piste as the avalanches have been ripping out in certain areas of the mountain. http://genevalunch.com/2013/02/13/update-2-two-nendaz-verbier-avalanches-wednesday-kill-1-leave-2-critical/
Be super careful when you are venturing off-piste. It worth taking a guide or coach who knows the area. Always have your safety equipment and know how to use it! It is always worth checking the avalanche risk scale on a daily basis and look out for danger warnings.
If its been snowing heavily for a long period of time and this has ben mixed with different temperatures and wind then the avalanche risk will be high. Adapt your riding according to conditions. Don’t look to ride on steep exposed slopes. Always look for mellow terrain where the risk of a slide ripping out is nothing.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us here at Vivid Snowboarding if you need any information about riding off-piste. Our door is always open to everyone.
All the team have been busy both working and enjoying the hill.
