New for winter 2023 – 2024 will be our advanced rider program. This will be a season long course which will take place in our home resort of Verbier, Switzerland. Please check out the program page https://vividsnowboarding.com/instructor-training/

The vastness of the mountains around Verbier make it the perfect playground for this style of course.

The concept of the course is to provide intermediate to advanced riders, as well as qualified level one and two instructors a platform to progress their riding skills all over the mountain.

The advanced rider program will be a journey through a northern hemisphere winter.

December:

The group will be honing their skills all over the mountain and getting back that general overall snowboard riding, fitness and mountain awareness. Carving and steeps clinics which is foundation skills for all high end snowboarding. Here we will begin the personal mentoring system. Individuals will talk through seasonal goals for the entire winter with their chosen mentor.

The group will be taking part in an avalanche safety course.

January and February:

The advance rider program will begin to look at the competitive aspect of freeridng. We begin to ride competition faces and learn how to select and ride different styles of lines.

The judges use the following criteria :

  • Difficulty and choice of line
  • Control
  • Fluidity
  • Jump and tricks
  • Technique

March and April :

Once the program gets into spring we begin to look at more freestyle riding all over the mountain and in the park. We also look at bank slalom riding which is new olympic discipline.

Throughout the winter those looking to gain some of the level 3 instructor modules will have opportunities to shadow both private high end lessons and specific freestyle and Freeride camps.

During the spring riders wishing to take certain level 3 modules will also have the opportunity to do so.
