POWDER CAMP JAPAN
MELO LODGE, HAKUBA

join us in January 2020 and experience a snowboarding trip of a lifetime. We have partnered with Melo lodge in Hakuba to create the ultimate powder camp. These 7 days riding will be some of the most rememberable turns and slashes you’ve ever made on your board.

Hakuba in the Nagano region of Japan receives annual snowfall of around 11 – 13 metres. Weather systems traveling from Siberia load up over the South China sea and dump their goods all over the mountains of Japan. Inhabitants require diggers rather than shovels to enable them to go about their daily life. The huge volumes of snow mixed with some of most rider friendly mountains in the world have made this our number one choice to hold our Japanese Powder Camps.

Our Vivid Snowboarding coaches will be guiding and coaching you throughout your 7 days in Hakuba.

The Hakuba valley is made up of 10 different mountains which are all covered by one lift pass. The areas are interlinked via a bus network and all offer a slightly different riding experience. From Snowboarding through perfectly spaced out trees to night riding and making powder turns under floodlights. Not only is Hakuba famed for its powder riding but it also has some of the best snowparks in Japan. Area 47 is awesome and the local park shapers take huge amounts of pride in creating features for all levels of rider. These parks are progressive and offer something for everyone. Tsugaike has been turning it up recently and has a really fun slopestyle park as well.

Transport information / options:

1. Nagano Snow Shuttle operates daily services to Hakuba Base Camp from Both Narita and Haneda international airports. There are 4 departure times each day ranging from 9:30am to 8:30pm.
Service costs range from ¥9,900 to ¥10,900 and includes:

  • One Way Transfer from Narita Airport to Ski Resort
  • Hakuba Base Camp Coupon
  • Shinshu Ski Resort Guide Book and Coupon

2. Get the Narita express train to Tokyo station. From there you’ll need to purchase a JR ticket on the Shinkansen Line to Nagano Station. Once you have arrived at Nagano station, head to the Highland Express terminal to purchase your Bus fare to Happo Bus Terminal. Service costs vary depending on type of carriage you choose.

Total trip fare can range from ¥9,000 – ¥12,000

3. The last option work’s well if you are spending a night or two in Tokyo before making your way to the mountains. The Alpico Group has a service from Shinjuku Station that departs 6 times per day from 6:35am to 11:05pm. This is a much more cost effective option at ¥5,600 one way. This provider also offers Airport transfers that are slightly cheaper than Nagano Snow Shuttle, but they only have 1 or 2 departures a day.
